As an attorney, a risk manager, and an economic development professional, Robert Ginsburg is an expert on all stages of cross border transactions. Since 1999, Robert has advised foreign investors and host governments on the financial rewards and political, economic, and legal/regulatory risks associated with foreign direct investment projects and trade projects. Prior to starting RBG Global, Robert managed the foreign direct investment program for the State of Illinois. As FDI manager, Robert devised and implemented a strategy for improving the state’s investment climate and attracting investment to Illinois. While working for Freshfields, Bruckhaus, Deringer and the US Department of State, Robert represented foreign investors and host governments in disputes arising out of international investment treaties. Robert also directed an international regulatory compliance program for a Fortune 500 company and managed clients' risk exposures in emerging market countries while working for ACE Insurance.
He holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where his studies focused on international business and corporate law. Robert also has a master’s degree in International Relations from American University and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Syracuse University. Robert is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Washington, DC.
Robert is also an Adjunct Professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he developed and teaches two courses based on his experiences in international business and his focus on international law.
